Well, here is a very typical teen flick.  Better half rented it.  I watched out of boredom.  Had I anything better to do, it would have been worth it, not to waste my time watching this movie.  This is one time I had wished the grass needed mowing.

Brutal scene of young girl being beaten and raped.  Very disgusting and explicit.  I compare this to 'Gran Torino', which also had such a scene.  However, in Gran Torino, you only saw the girl afterward.  Not the actual act of beating and rape.  It was a very convincing and emotional scene.  Unfortunately, in the Last House On The Left, we had to watch the act take place. 

The scum are, of course, stereo types.  They are hillbillies, because, you know that goes on all the time in the South.  There is papa scum, brother scum, papa's son and a really psycho girlfriend. 

The son is the only one who seems to not really fit in to this motley crew.

By chance, these scum then terrorize a couple.  Unbeknownst to them, this couple is actually the parents of the raped teen. 

So, now we have psycopaths from the hills meet revenge seeking bloodthirsty parents.  Who will win? 

The parents begin to wittle down the motley crew, one by one.  One of the scum loses fingers in a sink drain and then gets a loving tap on the skull with a hammer. 

The psycho girl fights the 'good' dad, while nude.  Too bad.  Nice body. 

Of course, papa scum is the toughest.  He almost wins.  But almost only works in Horseshoes. 

The scum's son helps the parents and they finally triumph. 

Typical stupidity, where one parent or the other watches as their counterpart is being beaten, making the viewer scream at the tv, yelling "c'mon already, do something, don't just stand there".  Finally, both parents will work in unison to beat down the scum.   This is what I refer to as hillbilly karate.  Just like in the oriental movies, where the bad guys always attack one-at-a-time, so it is in reverse in these types of films, where the good guys only fight one-at-a-time, making the scene take twice as long and giving the bad guy a chance to still win the fight.  Way too predictable.

The really most ridiculous part of this film is the end. For whatever reason, papa scum lives, but is not arrested.  The father of the raped girl, who happens to be a doctor, cuts him open and paralizes the scum.  Then sticks his head in a broken down microwave and we see the head explode. 

This movie makes me not want to ever live in the country, never associate with anyone with a Southern accent and maybe not warm up anything in the micro for a while either.

Explicit gore, sex, nudity, violence.  This film may not be rated for teens to watch, but it is definitely geared to their age bracket.

Very disappointing.
