Plot Details: This opinion reveals major details about the movie's plot.
I absolutely loved the movie, “Lean on Me.” It is a movie that I won’t forget for a long time.
It starts out with a good school called East Side High. Then it changed. It became a school filled with bad students. People were smoking, locking kids in lockers, all kinds of horrible stuff. One time a teacher tried to stop a fight and got himself taken to the hospital because the bullies weren’t afraid to beat him up either. F man named Mr. Clark comes and becomes the principal. The school changes. A big group of kids get kicked out of school. One comes back the next day begging to be let back in. After a long convincing discussion on the top of the school, he gets let back in. Then later, another one comes back with a knife and hurts a white boy. He tries to stab Mr. Clark but Mr. Clark is too fast. He decides that from now on, there will be chains on the doors.
During a lunch period, he makes three boys stand up and sing the school song. They don’t know it so he tells them to learn it and gives them three days detention. He goes into the chorus room and tells the teacher that he wants everyone to learn the school song. They have a long argument over the fact. She finally gets herself fired.
Mr. Clark starts to change when his boss gives him a few words. After that, he is good with the kids. They begin to prepare for a test. There are places all over the school that show how many days are left until the test. The students work hard. Then, the vice principal talks to him and he becomes an even better principal. Then, the chief of the fire department comes and Mr. Clark goes to jail for putting chains on the doors.
While in jail, he gets visitors. His friends. While the school board meeting goes on, they try to prove him innocent, but somebody else does that. The whole school comes into the yard yelling “Free Mr. Clark!” They say things like, “He is like a father to some of us who don’t have one!” and, “He’s a good principal!” Then the mayor let’s Mr. Clark talk to them. While he is settling them down, the vice principal comes with the test scores. East Side High had passed. It proved that Mr. Clark had done a good job. He was free.
I loved every bit of this movie. It was very touching. I could watch it again and again. I didn’t mention a lot of the good parts bause I don’t want to spoil it for you. I really recommend that you buy this movie or watch it on HBO or Cinemax. You’ll love it!
