I love the Walt Disney version of The Little Mermaid.  It is a tear jerker. Even though the story strays from the classic version that is in books I must admit that this is one of my all time favorite cartoon/ musical  movies. I am glad Disney re released this new 2 disc set on DVD and Blue Ray. Over the years my original   VHS version had the tape to break and the first DVD is worn out. This is a classic story. I watched it with my daughter and now can watch it with my grandchildren.  The Little Mermaid is a  family movie and the tale of true love is timeless.  The songs are really wonderful and my grandson sings along with Ariel Sebastian and all the others.  The tunes are catchy and stick in your head. The colors and graphics in this set seem more vibrant than in the original video tape version. The  characters are lovable and each has a distinct personality of it's own.  I enjoy also the behind the scenes information that was not available when this was first released  many years ago. It is so difficult today to get good G rated family movies.
