Trouto's Full Review: National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
Another installment of movies from those idiot's that bought us 'Animal House' and the other two 'Vacation' movies. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation delivers more of the laughs and spills we have grown up with. This movie loses none of the Lampoon magic, and kept me laughing from start to finish.
I will start by saying that National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation may not be for everybody. If you like movie's with meaning, love, plots.....then you had better look elswhere! National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation is a movie to slack around and tune off in front of. No thinking allowed!! The comedy is centered around the misfortunes of others, like "funniest Home Videos".
The star of the movie is Clark W. Grizwald (aka. Chevy Chase) and his loving family. If you are not familiar with the "Vacation" series, Clark is a devout family man, hell bent on forcing his family to spend time together and 'bond', and he will stop at nothing to achieve his goals. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation is set, you guessed it, around the Christmas Vacation period. The rest of the family want to go on seperate holidays, but Clark, the self-imposed king of the family, is determined to have the entire family around his house for the holidays. From the word go, the idea is a disaster!
Everyone loves christmas lights, right? Well no one does lights like Clark! The Grizwald house is *eventually* turned into an entire city, tripping out the power grid! Clark is stunned when his bumbling cousin Eddie arrives with his loser family, down on their luck, and on the bones of their ass's. One of the funniest parts of the movie come when Clark takes Audry and Rusty (the two long suffering Grizwald Kids, who strangly look completly different every movie) out into the bush to get "The perfect Christmas tree". Clark goes overboard, of course, and gets a 20 foot monster!! The exchange of words between Clark and his neigbours about the tree is pure hilarity!! Also, I nearly wet myself when I saw Clark on his bobsled. Clark has invented a lubricant 500 times more slippery than butter. Of course this ends in disaster, but its soooo goddam funny!
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. I reccomend this movie for people who like to zone out and just laugh and laugh all through a movie. It's a hilarious movie, with great casting.
It s Christmastime for the Griswolds. A season for giving, for Yuletide carols, for Christmas tree lights glowing brightly...hey, wait, this one s not...More at Buy.com Marketplaces
