Pros:Very funny, unique plot, great cast, directed by Ron Howard
Cons:Crude film quality, "fade-to-black" between scenes
The Bottom Line: Rent this movie to watch with friends. It's a bundle of laughs and the cast is fantastic!

Plot Details: This opinion reveals major details about the movie's plot.

The movie "Night Shift" stars Henry Winkler, Micheal Keaton and Shelly Long. It is directed by Ron Howard.

Henry Winkler plays 'Chuck Lumbley', a city morgue employee and financial genius whos only reason for working in the morgue is because he needs someplace "quiet". After Chucks boss shunts him to night-shift in order to employee his nephew, Chuck meets his new partner, Bill "Blaze" Blazejowski an "idea man" who's always looking for the bigger, better deal.

Chuck's prostitute neighbor Belinda Keaton, played by Shelly Long, loses her pimp and things get rough for her and her collegues. Bill and a reluctant Chuck take action and become "love brokers" for the girls by running their business out of the city morgue.

It is a very funny movie with some great dialog and even better quotes. Michael Keaton is the star of the show. (I especially love the scene after Bill buys his new car and is showing it off to Chuck. It's a side-splitter!)

There is even a fun surprise in this movie during the "frat party scene": Keven Costner is actually in it. Look for his name in the credits as "frat boy #1"

A fun movie with superb direction by Ron Howard. Some of his camera angles will crack you up. (The "key toss" and the "towel boy jumping to save his friend from a fight" are the two that really stand out for me.)
