"Paper Moon" was an absolute gem. It's the story of a drifting con man, Ryan O'Neal, who travels around running games on widows. Suddenly he is saddled with a young girl, his daughter. Tatum O'Neal makes her film debut with her father. Tatum portrays Ryan's daughter in this film. She is absolutely enchanting and turns out to be the star of the con game. These two become more partner than father and daughter as the film progresses.
Tatum received the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in this film and it was well deserved. Filmed in black and white, one gets the feel that it's a documentary at times, because Tatum is such a natural. He sassy attitude and saucy language will win your heart over. She is truly adorable and completely steals this movie away from our more experienced Dad!
Paper Moon is not exactly for the whole family. It involves adult situations and a little profanity. But it is a classic comedy with fabulous performances from Ryan and Tatum O'Neal. It's a must see!
