So glad you enjoyed these wonderful memories!
Two years ago today, we were having my dad's funeral service. Fifty-nine years ago tomorrow, my folks got married.
In November of 1962 (the year he turned 45 on the 5th), I was leading a carefree life even though my dad was in the hospital at the time. I was looking forward to his coming home in time for Christmas--and he did.
Those songs take me back to that time. I can't seem to remember Paper Tiger or Sad Movies Make Me Cry. Let's say that I vaguely remember them--but I couldn't hum either of them for you at this time.
To Wonderful Memories!

...and The Exciters "Tell Him" along with Sue Thompson's "Norman" are two of my favorite all-time oldies! You mention Sue's "James Hold The Ladder Steady" but do you remember her "Paper Tiger" and of course the classic "Sad Movies {Always Make Me Cry}".
I think November, 1962 was a really cool time to hear the old AM radio. Where I live we had 77 WABC, 1010 WINS and the Fabulous 57 WMCA. November, 1962 also had The Crystals with "He's A Rebel", The Orlons "Don't Hang Up", The Cookies "Chains"...and yes I found a copy of their "Girls Grow UP Faster Than Boys" which was a tremendous lost hit from the following year! There were so many more greats from that time. Thanks for a great read and also for bringing back the mems!...Peter

Thanks for the very sweet feedback! It means a lot to me!
We're definitely two-of-a-kind in that way, and I know that you would really like this movie a lot. Have you seen it?
Hugs!

AJ, that you are an incureable romantic -and I say that nicely. There is nothing wrong with that. In fact I think it's a good thing. Romantics always look at life with kind eyes, and almost always see the glass half full instead of half empty. Your reviews reflect hope and nostalgia, and i enjoy them.
