Opinion Summary
Who would have thought archeology could be such fun?
by captaind | Oct 01 '04
Pros: Fast, furious, and FUN, all the cast, especially Ford and Rhys-Davies
Cons: Nothing unless you're really picky (apart from some parts being scary for young children)

You'll have to bribe me first...

How about if I take all your Pratchett books and refuse to return them until you tell me...

Ah, Denholm Elliot. He was a hoot in Noises Off!, but now I remember him in Raiders. Haven't seen Ford in anything for ages, but did see Starman with Allen and Jeff Bridges. Not bad.

I promise not to tell.

Ah well, that ones quite simple. Everyone knows that I'm a high brow snob with no sense of humor and an inability to appreciate anything that isn't completely boring. Everyone also knows that Dave is a low brow simpleton with no sense of uniqueness an inability to appreciate anything not deeply cliched and mundane. If word ever got out that those 2 worlds had collided the results would be...

dramatic pause...

devastating!!!

Remind me never to go the watch a movie with you... you sound even more embarrassing than my family...

"John Rhys-Davies is always great." - absolutely - and having recently read an interview with him, he seems like a very interesting guy too!

as for Carl's reputation... it's all in his head. Though we do have a gentleaman's agreement never to publicly agree about a movie. (Since he's not a gentleman though I'm not concerned about breaking it!!)

Thanks Derek!

You know, it was almost by accident that I realised I was nearing the hundred mark a few days ago!

"Neither Kate Capshaw nor Alison Doody could carry Allen's bra strap in the female lead." - I seem to remember Capshaw just being a blonde idiot. I must watch the Temple of Doom again as I never really liked it before but I'm not sure if I would now! I didn't mind Doody too much.

"By the way, Karen Allen still acts" - yeah, I looked her up and she's been in tons of stuff... just nothing I've seen!!

Thanks for the congrats! :-)

Sorry mate, I'd already written this before I realised. (I'd remembered you writing up the collection but forgot that you did the individual films too - I might do that witht he Back to the Future films.)

Anyway, you are fully aware that it harms my reputation more than yours!!!

Don't you dare post that Starsky & Hutch review that agreed with mine - or didn't you even write it in the end??

Thanks for the info Sue! (I did actually look her up on IMDB but haven't seen any of the films she's been in - as far as I can remember, anyway - even though she's been in loads!)

Harrison Ford... mmmmmmmm.... yummmmmmmm... ohhhhhhhh.... Oops, got a bit carried away there, sorry (NOT.)

I love, love, love this film. I remember when I saw it in the theatre for the first time, during that sequence with the door and his hat... I actually yelled out in the theater, His hat!!!!!!! I was so embarrassed.

I believe he ended up with several broken bits by the end of filming!

Please don't tell me he had any broken bits! Perhaps I should volunteer to fix em, I have watched ER you know.

John Rhys-Davies is always great.

Congratulations on the 100 movie reviews honey.

Spielberg didn't bring Karen Allen back for the sequels. Neither Kate Capshaw nor Alison Doody could carry Allen's bra strap in the female lead.

By the way, Karen Allen still acts, and can be seen in the current release, "When Will I Be Loved." Her memorable roles, besides "Raiders," were in "Animal House" and "Starman."

Congratulations on 100 movie reviews, and thanks as always for sharing!

Sincerely, Pat

but these are mine. I've reviewed the Indy films and the Star Wars films, and since I said I liked them then you are not allowed to claim the same. I have a reputation to uphold you know!!!

love this movie (and the sequels). And you're right. It's all about pure fun. Karen Allen, btw, was also in "Animal House".

Happy 100th!

Liz - it's easier than they're all on the second page on the "show all" thing and only a few reviews from other categories on that page... just subtract 200 for the first page and the few on the second from your total number of hits, and violla!
