This is a great science fiction movie built with the elements of pure entertainment. It is the sequel to Mad Max, but this movie could very easily stand on its own. The Road Warrior has action, imagination, and a great purpose. It kinda gives me ideas on how to obtain gasoline (just kidding).
The Road Warrior has a futuristic setting found in the desert of Australia. Max is now a drifter trying to survive by not being stranded without gas in his car. Of course, the desert wasteland is ruled by a gang who survives by stealing from the people of the desert. Max runs into another drifter who tells him of a factory that produces gasoline. One problem would be the huge gang of motorcycles, modified cars, and nitrix running railbugs who have the factory camp under siege trying get the gas. Max gets into the camp by saving one of the men from the camp and bringing him back. In return, Max was going to get some gas, but the man dies and so does the contract.
With the gang getting stronger while they grow weaker, the people of the camp grow desperate for a way to ship their gasoline. Max tells them of a rig he saw while being chased that could transport the gasoline and offers to get it for some of the gas. The adventure begins as Max must sneak through the gang's camp on foot and then come back through with the truck. With a little help, some luck, and lots of explosions, Max makes it back with the rig and even ends up driving it out to try and save the gas from being stolen.
This movie starts with a great chase scene and ends with a great chase scene. Furthermore, it is full of inventive weapons like a razor sharp boomerang, huge blow torches, automatic dart guns, and shotguns. Everything a good action flick needs.
