The Movie That Made Me Love Movies

I saw sex, lies, and videotape when I was about 14 years old. I watched it for the title, hoping for something scandalous and exciting. I wasn't scandalized, but I was excited for the first time about movies. I saw what movies could be, how intense.

sex, lies, and videotape is a study in relationships between contrasting and similar people. A strange, messed-up threesome are shook up by a man who suddenly enters their lives.

Andie Macdowell gives a varied performance, taking her character through extremes of emotion and denial of emotion. James Spader's acting is good, but uneven.

Overall, the title tells the most about the movie: it's about sex, lies, and videotape.... :)
