oh, poop. 'non sequitur'. silly boy! you probably just wanted to trot out your Latin today!

The main thing I remember about SSS is its rapid-fire dialog, more dialog per minute than anything since a Jimmy Cagney movie probably, so many words that subtitles would have been nice. Brian may have been drawing an unconscious parallel bewteen a talky, urban, introspective, high-social-stakes, psychological drama, which SSS is, and a semi-literate, ultra simple countrified shoot-'em-up in the Audey Murphy tradition.

So there.

easy, easy, easy HR Brian. Cheers.

I thought I would be able to "Highly Recommend" this review, but in the last line, as you often do, you threw it away for me. Your comparison of THE SWEET SMELL OF SUCCESS to an Audie Murphy movie is, from any standpoint, a non sequitur.
