Plot Details: This opinion reveals minor details about the movie's plot.
This is one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. I went to see it because the previews looked really interesting - like your typical time traveler trying to change history for personal reasons. Never do you expect what the movie has in store for the viewer - unless of course, you saw the original.
At first glance, the film appears to be very innocent and calm, just your average time travel story. NO, it is a science fiction flick. It's great! The time traveler goes back in time to fix something, but ends up going into the future to find some answers. He ends up seeing the world's evolution in a very short period of time. He travels a good 2000 years ahead of his time and we get to see him(of the 1800's) react to all the new inventions that we know and love, then we get to see him react to the destruction and danger that may lay ahead due to human carelessness.
Thus, not only is this a very good story but it has a message that is not to be taken lightly by viewers. It may be even a bit realistic.
It's very exciting, a definite thriller with lots of twists and turns of the imagination as well as lots of scares and scifi normalities.
Much like Planet of the Apes, it is a remake of the original. If you are afraid of the scifi part of it, don't be, Im not a big fan myself, but I loved both movies.
Even having seen the original, this film is just as good. Go see it on the big screen, it's worth your while!
