Thanks for the compliment.
As for writing a longer and detailed review, you can always update. I was struggling with this one...indeed, I cut it in two and submitted the 2nd half to Writer's Corner.

Great review. I would have done a fuller, more detailed one like this but I'm just too damn lazy. By the way, thanks for pointing out the new glyphs on the tractor beam control unit in Episode IV; I didn't catch that.

I'm glad you liked the review. It was hard to write....it was actually so long that I pared it in two....the review and the Fan's Perspective piece. It took me about two days to do and I was exhausted by the time I finished.
I did a review today on the SW Radio Drama so I'd end the month on a non-slacker note.

I'm glad you wrote your honest opinion on the subject, even though I've pretty much made up my mind to not dwell on the "It would have been nice if..." issue of Lucas' decision not to release the original versions of the trilogy.
I wrote a detailed Epinion in the Writer's Corner...where someone already gave me a "SH" rating......

I'm divided (Reply to this comment)

I quite liked the new editions, I liked the improvement to the detail and speed of the first Death Star battle. I was particularly moved by the aforementioned montage scene where various planets are cheering at the fall of the Empire. it added a grewat sense of galactic scope and culture to it- it felt like a richer victory and one that was truly for the history books, and consequently was a better ending.
But then again I do side with many of the teed off Star Wars fans who feel badly treated by George Lucas for denying them the originals, which were part of their childhood -particularly now that he's mutilated the face of Darth Vader's ghost-, I mean what harm is there in releasing both versions- he could make twice the money and everyone's happy?
