Can a prostitute have ethics? Can a lawyer?
In Pretty Woman they can, or they can learn to. Julia Roberts plays a good hearted prostitute with a childlike sense of delight. She warms the heart of Richard Gere, a stuffy hard-hearted corporate shark.
Roberts' transformation from streetwalker to lovely lady is fun and delightful to watch. The hotel manager, played by Hector Elizondo is instrumental in this change. He helps Roberts and then stands back to watch the flower bloom.
Roberts' former roomate, played by Laura San Giacomo provides a very campy and comic counterpart to the rapidly refining Roberts.
Will a fairy tale come true? Roberts says that she will settle for no less than the knight on a white horse. Watch and find out!
