Plot Details: This opinion reveals minor details about the movie's plot.
Oscar is a 1991 movie that stars Sylvester Stallone, Marisa Tomei, Vincent Spano, Chazz Palminteri, Tim Curry and more. This is a very lighthearted farce, set in 1931, about a gangster who promises his father (on his deathbed) he will go straight.
The movie takes place over the span of 4 hours (8am to 12 noon), the first that Angelo "Snaps" Provolone (Stallone) tries to go straight.
The movie is really funny, as it shows "snaps" trying to deal with all the problems that crop up during the day BEFORE the bankers get there. We have his daughter Lisa (Marisa Tomei) and her many engagements, his new "help" (Chazz Palminteri and more) that cannot quite lose their gangster habits, a thieving accountant (Vincent Spano), a stuffy linguist (Tim Curry) a daughter that isn't a daughter and a bag of underwear. Little does he know the cops are watching him sure he is up to something and that an informant has also told a rival "family" that he thinks "snaps" is joining with another group. So all the activity coming and going has the cops and other gangsters ready to spring!
Everyone in this movie is pretty funny, but Chazz Palminteri as Connie and Vincent Spano as Anthony Rossano (the accountant) were really good.
