I love Albert Brooks, but this movie encapsulates exactly what's wrong with Hollywood, in one particular detail.
Brooks' character is being judged in the afterlife for what he's failed to do, and the prime example is... he didn't buy Casio stock when it was cheap.
AAAAAAGGGGHHH!!!!!!
If there's any absolute moral structure in the universe, it surely doesn't care about investors' foresight!!!!
And that this is the best Brooks could come up with, is just unspeakably pathetic.
Aside from that spineless core, fans of Albert Brooks will probably place this fairly high among his works, for wit.
And the new-age cliche about people only using 10% of their brains is very nicely milked.
