Plot Details: This opinion reveals minor details about the movie's plot.
I can't associate any word other than 'cute' with this movie. It is a very simple movie but it is different. It makes us smile and feel sorry at the same time. My heart really went for Steve Martin while watching this movie. He did his role perfectly and he succeeded in making people smile at his acts and feel sorry for it at the same time. It is the story of a father who loves his daughter dearly. When he declares that she is going to marry her boy friend, he can not cope up with the fact and tries to convince himself that his daughter has grown up, though unsuccessfully.
Plot
George Banks is the owner of an athletic shoe company and lives with his wife, daughter, and son. He loves his daughter Annie a lot and he thinks she is a kid though she is 18 years old. One day she tells her parents that she wants to marry a guy whom she is loving for three months. A bewildered George tries his best to find a flaw in the guy but in vain.
He feels jealous of her love for someone else other than him. He feels that her love for him is gradually decreasing.
Is he correct in thinking so?
Conclusion
It is a very simple and light hearted movie. Steve Martin's impeccable performance is the main asset of the movie. The movie succeeds in touching people's heart as the feelings of George are very real and perhaps every father might have faced it or may face it. The movie makes you laugh and shed a tear or two with it's touching moments. The last scene is really very well written.
