This title is perfect for this movie. Why? Drew Barrymore plays Ivy, a girl who poisons everyone and everything which she comes into contact.
This movie shows Drew at her sexiest. She moves in with the Cooper family. Tom Skerritt ("Pickett Fences") is Darryl Cooper, Cheryl Ladd ("Charlie's Angels") is Georgie Cooper and Sara Gilbert ("Roseanne") is Sylvie Cooper. The main problem I had with this movie was the casting. Sara Gilbert as the daughter of Tom Skerritt and Cheryl Ladd? Please. Sara Gilbert no more looked like the offspring of Skerritt and Ladd than Godzilla does of Christie Brinkley and Billy Joel.
At first Ivy charms everyone and can sweet talk her way out of anything. There are some semi- lesbian scenes between Barrymore and Gilbert and there are some out and out sex scenes between Barrymore and Skerritt.
Georgie (the mom) is always sick - from what we really don't know, so Barrymore conveniently takes over, in more ways than one. At first, helping Darryl to host a dinner party at the house and later, in bed. Only it's not exactly in bed. Well, once it's in Georgie and Darryl's bed, while Georgie is passed out from medication and once it's on the hood of a car in the rain.
And toward the end of the movie, it always seems to be raining. I don't think Noah had to deal with as much rain as these people.
Eventually, Sylvie figures out what Ivy is up to, but it's too late for one person, however I won't say who.
The music used in the film fits perfectly. And if you're in the mood for soft core porn, this is the movie for you. That said, it's definitely not for kids.
