That was a great review.
I love this movie too, although I'm not a fan of excessive violence in a film, this ones a lot of fun. I think the Bar scene is great.

Hard Boiled (Reply to this comment)

Fabien--
Wow, incredible review man! It is chock full of details. Great job tackling Woo's swan song. I too believe that Hard Boiled is Woo's most action-packed film to date. I admittedly was disappointed that this film did not have as much of a strong plot as Woo's other flicks, The Killer and Bullet in the Head, but the action sequences just make you wanna say, "Damn!"
I felt that Tony Leung though did an absolutely superb job as the troubled undercover cop. If you ask me, I felt that he outstaged Chow Yun-Fat quite a few times!
Anyway, thanks for participating in my write-off. Happy new year.

P.S. I can't wait to read some of the entries in your millenium *bash.*

Woo is me, (Reply to this comment)

I truly believe American cinema received most of its inspiration from the Chinese connecion. The Far East has introduced several films that were redone in America. As you may know, most screenplays are not original anymore. However, you can never know what we'll receive from these Chinese icons. Hopefully we'll see more originality come from them. Thanks for sharing!
Have a happy holiday!
Sincerely,
Ronboy
