Plot Details: This opinion reveals minor details about the movie''s plot.
If you have never seen any kind of rodeo, you don't know what you are missing out on. Rodeo's bring about a certain sense of excitement, that is hard to come by. One of the most thrilling events to watch is bull riding. A cowboy is strapped to a bull, who wants nothing more than to buck the cowboy off. The only thing the cowboy has to worry about, is hanging on for dear life for 8 seconds, and then getting out of Dallas. Lane Frost was one of the greatest bull riders in history.
The movie 8 Seconds portrays Lane's life from a young age, when he did mutton bustin', until his death many years later. Lane grew up on a poor ranch, and had to work for everything he ever had. This taught him some valuable lessons that helped him when he was traveling the rodeo circuit. Lane was a man that wanted to make everyone feel included. In the movie, he stops to talk to a young boy that is riding a bale of hay. Lane gave him some pointers on how to properly ride a bull. When Lane's traveling buddy Tuff Hedeman asked him why, Lane said, "I remember the first time my daddy ever let me go behind the shoots. We was at a rodeo in Vernal Utah, and them cowboys didn't want anything to do with me. Right there I decided that if I ever made it big, I was gonna stop and talk to everyone." This is the kind of man that Lane was, he was a great bullrider, and an even better friend.
If you don't believe me on how good he was at riding, just look at the facts. Lane Frost was the youngest cowboy ever inducted into the Cowboy Hall of Fame. This is because he was a great man.
If you haven't seen 8 Seconds, then I strongly suggest that you watch this movie. It is a feel good movie, with a great story line about a great man. Just make sure that you have a box of tissues with you.
