8 Seconds has truly captured the dangerous ways of rodeo life. Being born and raised in Texas, and being around my best friends father who was once a professional bull-rider, I love the ways of the rodeo, and was thrilled to see that there was a movie out about Lane Frost, one of the world best bull-riders there was.
8 Seconds shows us the ups and downs of the rodeo world. The thrills, the wins, the losses, the heartbreak, and in the end, you never win. Rodeo will make you, but it will eventually break you.
The life of Lane Frost proves my theory of the rodeo life. He started out a beginner, but soon rose to the top of the rodeo world, but in the process, almost ruining his marriage, ruining friendships, and ruining himself. You have to keep your head on straight, and never let it get too big. Lane Frost set a wonderful example for many rodeo men, and still does.
Sadly to say to those who have not seen this movie, Lane Frost was killed by a bull during a ride. In the end, rodeo broke him. Had he lived on, he would have been a living legacy, although now he is a legacy in our memories.
This is one of the best rodeo movies you will ever see, and nothing else beats the way this movie shows the true life and times of the American rodeo man.
