Want to see a young Luke Perry ride bulls? Well, I rented this movie for the bull riding and I found that it actually had a good storyline and good acting.
This movie is based on a true story about Lane Frost. He was a bull rider who wanted to break the stigma of the macho rodeo king. He tried to cater to the children who looked up to him as a role model. He travels around from rodeo to rodeo with his friends hoping to make it big.
In the process, he meets a girl and falls in love. The wed and at first, all is blissful. But soon the constant traveling takes its toll on their relationship. All this, plus ensuing emotional conflicts with his father make for a very good movie with complex characters and a superior plot.
The rodeo scenes are really cool. There are some bad bulls in this movie. Advice: in the scene where he falls off of the bull, the guys might not want to watch. That is all I am going to say about that.
This film is a bit dated, but it is still very good. I recommend renting it.
