This is Spinal Rap--Rusty Cundieff's Fear of a Black Hat

Pros: Excellent mock documentary that rivals This is Spinal Tap.
Cons: Some of it's a bit dated by today's standards.

...bounceback.

I can't find "Fear of a Black Hat" either at my local Blockbuster or Hollywood Video. Any idea where I might be able to rent a VHS....or is this one of those eBay deals where I find some underground dub master bootlegging?

I really want to see this.

Otherwise known as FYM, Ice Cold's first novel just about sums up this flick. Easily one of the funniest I have ever seen, and, as sacreligious as it may be, funnier in places than Spinal Tap.

Keep spreading the word, mate.

...know what I'm sayin'?

I'm on this one right away; I think I'll put it on the VCR when my boys are back in town from college. We're all "Spinal Tap" maniacs, and this one ought to fit in nicely.

Thanks,

nick

I saw this a few years ago and absolutely thought it was hilarious. My favorite part is when the DJ is showing off his skills for a woman and starts scratching on the turntable with his bare bootie and other 'equipment'.

Great review Mike!

I caught about half of this on Showtime when I was in high school. Even then, when I wasn't really interested in hip-hop, I just remember almost falling off the couch I was laughing so hard. Thanks for reminding me I still need to see the whole thing sometime.
