After reading the back of the box, I was sold on checking out this video. A 25 minute work-out didn't sound too bad. I didn't have to delve out any money, as I was only renting from the library.
At home I cleared some furniture out of the way and popped the tape into the VCR. I was ready to go. One of the first things I noticed was that the intro was taking awhile, but you can expect that with most aerobic videos. I can't help find it to be a nuisance because I am ready to just get started, however they have to add all that dialogue about checking with your doctor first, etc.
Once the work-out started, there are 3 instructors and 2 participants. The work-out is set up really nice. On one side, they have 2 doing modifying the work-out to be very low-impact (this included a pregnant woman) and on the other side they had 2 doing the work-out showing how you could increase the challenge. The center was the leading instructor.
The first 5 minutes was a warm-up led by the pregnant female. It was very easy to follow and a nice warm-up. The moves easy to pick-up and actually fun.
The second 5 minutes was led by another female. I LOVED this routine. It was to country music, with moves to match. I couldn't help but get into the video, as I kicked out my heels and moved to the country music.
The third 5 minutes was the most involved. You moved your arms a lot and your legs. Lunges, arm curls, etc. This was my least favorite of all the 5 minute segments, but that is the nice thing, you knwo each segment is only 5 minutes and thus over before you know it.
The fourth 5 minutes involved the second instructor again. I think she is great. Her routines are just fun and she a very motivating leader. I would not mind having her as an aerobics instructor in real life.
The final 5 minutes have a latin flare with the third instructor. This was a great cool-down as it just had some basic cha cha moves and you got to shake your hips some, which is always fun. A great cool-down and something to look forward to through out the video.
This set-up is really nice, because if you need to break-up your workout routine. You can do it in f different 5 minute segments through out the day.
After the aerobic work-out you have a stretch routine with Jane. It is very relaxing, but I have a short attention span and don't find 20 minutes of stretching worth my while.
After doing this tape several times and returning it to the library, I went out and bought the tape. It is one of my favorites, especially since I only have to commit 25 minutes. I rarely do the stretch segment at the end. I've had the video for 5 years and I still enjoy using it and always feel energized after it.
