The Addiction (1995) stars Lili Taylor, Annabella Sciorra and Christopher Walken, (Lili and Christopher being two of my favorite actors). It is not rated since it is an art-house/independent movie but I would peg it at about R and is 82 mins long. I should also mention that it is black and white. The basic idea is a philosophy grad student in New York becomes a vampire, and how her life is after that.
This is in NO way a typical vampire movie. The vampires are shown more as junkies than beautiful creatures like they usually are. This movie is pretty graphic (with violence and sex) so the squeemish might want to skip this one. Lili and Christopher are wonderful in this, but the characters are not really that full, that could be intentional though. This movie has a very philisophical viewpoint and is a thinking movie, amidst all the violence and blood. There are also some funny moments in the movie. If you are into art house and indie movies you really should check this out. If you are more into the Interview with the Vampire style vampires you might want to skip this one.
Also as a side note, this movie was raved about by critics but it is hard to find. It is at most of the major online video places but usually takes 1 week to get it. It sometimes plays on the Independent Film Channel.
