Excellent Review! (Reply to this comment)

You did a good job at summing up the strengths and weaknesses of this film. I too am a MOLL FLANDERS fan...any film where you can see Morgan Freeman run around in braids and britches is fine by me!

They did a remake of this too? (Reply to this comment)

Having seen the Kim Novak version of Moll Flanders years ago (more than I care to admit) I have to wonder where Hollywood is going to draw the line at recreating their vast archives. It all depends on your demographics, I suppose. The earlier Moll was anything but a chick flick. I usually avoid remakes and sequels because they are almost always disappointing and invariably suffer by comparison. Great review, but I'm going to pass on this one, thank you.

This is an excellent review! I liked Moll Flanders so much that I not only purchased the movie but I also bought the soundtrack. A worthy investment I might add.
I wanted to comment on this yesterday when I rated it but had problems with Epinions.
Great job!

GREAT REVIEW! The book was used in my (Christian) high school as a springboard for debate on the subject of forgiveness and redemption. (The general consensus was that sincere repentance gets you forgiveness, as promised, even if it's uttered with your dying breath.) Seeing the movie would have provided some really interesting counterpoint to that debate. There's two sides to every story - sometimes three - and you never really know WHY people behave as they do unless you see things from their perspective.
If you can get me to voluntarily run out and pick up a chick flick, you are one powerful writer.
Great job Kristina!
Best regards,
Tom
