Plot Details: This opinion reveals minor details about the movie's plot.
Ricki Lake, Shirley MacClaine, and Brendan Frasier star in this movie. It is about a girl named Connie Doyle (Ricki Lake) who gets pregnant. Her boyfriend dumps her and she ends up in the streets with no money. She decieds to take a subway, but by mistake goes to a train and doesn't have a ticket. A man named Hugh Winterbourne (Brendan Frasier)saves her by pretending that she is his wife so that she can be let in the train. She stays in his room with his also pregnant wife, Patricia Winterbourne. Connie tries on Patricia's wedding ring and as she wears it, the train crashes and she is the only surviving passenger. She wakes up in a hospital and had already given birth. The tag on her hand has Patricia Winterbourne's name in it. They must have mistaken her as Patricia since she was wearing her wedding ring. She is taken to the Winterbourne family household and Hugh's mother (Shirly MacClaine) thinks that Connie's son is her grandson. She has never seen her daughter in law since Hugh eloped in France. Connie tries telling the mother that she is not Patricia, but once the mother sees Connie's son, she gets attached to him. Connie doesn't want to hurt her feelings and was glad she now has a place to live. The surviving twin brother Bill Winterbourne (also played by Brendan Frasier)was suspicious of her, but learns to love her. Everything is well, until...the real father of Connie's child comes to claim him. He threatens her of telling the Winterbourne family the truth. I wont spoil the rest for you...
This movie has many funny moments and dramatically touching moments as well, and a bit of romance into it, which make it a really fun movie to watch. It is more like a fairy tale, since they live happily ever after in the end. Connie is too lucky of a person to be real and her luck gets to be too good to be true in real life.
