gulrasput's Full Review: Wallace & Gromit - A Close Shave
This is the third installment from Nick Parks in the Wallace and Gromit chronicles. I had the pleasure of being introduced to Wallace and Gromit while I was working in England. I found their adventures to be very entertaining and quite humorous. Anyone who knows me can say that I rarely laugh out loud; however, all three of these videos have done just that.
A Close Shave is a wonderful adventure that takes Wallace, an unlikely inventor of Rude Goldberg fashion, and his faithful, and very intelligent dog, face to face with an evil robot, car chases, plane chases, perils and even a little romance. Despite my previous sentence, this 30 minute video is a must for any children video collection.
I believe that this 'claymation' flick surpasses the quality of any Disney film out there. The plot is very 'tight' and well written. The thirty minutes of this piece aare not wasted and will definitely hold a child's attention with all the action and interesting characters.
The other titles produced by Nick Parks are: A Grand Day Out, The Wrong Trousers, Creature Comforts and a not yet released motion picture to be released in conjunction with DreamWorks (Trailer is shown before The Road to Eldorado)
I'm not a parent, but an uncle and I must say that this video is enjoyable for all ages. I, as an adult, have yet to be turned off by Wallace and Gromit. Unlike other children videos, that reaffirm that sacrifice is a mainstay for parenting, this is a video both YOU and your children will enjoy...
