  • Action Factor:
Pros:Plot, great acting, storyline, interesting characters
Cons:That this movie didn't get the notoriety when it came out
The Bottom Line: One the better movies that isn't well known. This movie kind of flew under the radar. But it shouldn't have, a very good movie.

Plot Details: This opinion reveals no details about the movie's plot.

This movie is really original. A lot of people are calling it a copy of Pulp Fiction, I disagree. Everything about this movie is done very well from the acting, the plot, script, the characters and everything else. I was especially impressed with the acting, all the actors really played their parts well and made their characters very interesting.
This is one of them movies were there are a few different sub plots, then all the characters come together in a bizarre way. 2 Days In the Valley has a good blend of dark comedy with entertaining drama and action. It's not a movie were it tries to give you a message or anything it is just movie that entertains you.
This movie has a few different stories going on at once. One being Danny Aiello who plays Dosmo Pizzo a down and out hitman who gets a contract to kill someone, the only catch being he has team up another crazy hitman Lee Woods, played wonderfully by James Spader. Aiello is very good in this. In my opinion this is his best performance in all the movies I have seen him in. He plays an old depressed hitman, who has a very somber personality, which makes you like his character a lot.
Another great performance is the one Jeff Daniels gives. Jeff and Eric Stoltz play valley cops. Jeff plays the old detective and Stoltz plays the rookie detective who is eager in breaking cases. This is different role from Jeff Daniels that you are use to seeing him in. Even in his more serious films that he is in, he usually adds some comic relief. Not in this movie, he plays a a fed up ornery detective who is going through some rough times.
Charlize Theron makes one of her first film appearences in this movie also. She is good also. She plays the sexy and seductive woman in this movie. Terri Hatcher also appears in the murder, her character is in the middle of a murder investigation.
Personally I think this movies is very unique. Some people think it is copying other movies. I don't see it. It isn't the first movie to have multiple sub plots that all come together at the end, I realize that, but I still think it is really original and creative. I can't say enough about the acting either, everyone does a very good job. The characters that writer and director John Herzfeld created are very intriguing. Th plot and script are very interesting as well, you will be entertained from beginning to end. If you are a fan of movies and can appreciate a good quality script and movie, then you will be impressed by this one.
Sorry if I didn't get into too much detail with the actual plot of the movie. I don't like to give a whole away in my reviews, especially in a movie like this where all the different plots and characters come together later in the movie, I don't want to ruin any suprises. One last overall review I can give you about the plot is hitmen killers, two detectives, dead civilians, widows, and all types of other weirdos whos crazy lives intersect during 2 days in the valley.
