Let me start out by saying, this movie is amazing. Jet Li is one of the greatest fighters I have ever seen on camera. This movie is a remake of Bruce Lee's The Chinese Connection. Gordon Chan, the director, had a basic plot and was probably able to concentrate on the action full time. The movie is set around Japanese occupation of China. Jet plays Chen Zen, a student in Japan, who has to come back to his school in CHina because his master has been killed. He goes on a quest for revenge, over a course of 3-4 major action scenes. This movie is just straight hand to hand fighting, very unlike Jackie Chan movies, which involve the environment much more. Some action scenes do seem to use strings a bit too much, but you can look past that. Overall, this movie is a landmark along with the Once Upon a Time in China series.
