I thought the Saint was very well done for an original motion picture (i.e. non-sequel). I would of liked it to have become a franchise. I thought it was significantly better than the old Roger Moore and Timothy Dalton Bond films.
Pierce Brosnan, of course, is in a league all his own.
Val Kilmer has got to be one of the most under-rated GREAT actors in hollywood. I agree that he was superb in this movie (and every movie he's been in).

ps. Don't forget how good Shue was in 'Leaving Las Vegas' (I think that was the name of the film with Nicholas the Cage).
