The old Douglas Fairbanks silent is also pretty good. I thought the Banderas version was bogus. One good source for videos is half.com.

Sounds worthy of a rental (Reply to this comment)
by EnderZ
After hearing comments by various movie critics about the shortcomings of the recent "The Mark of Zorro"(with Catherine Zeta Jones), I began to wonder what was so good about the original. Many of the critics chided the latest movie for not having the charm or wit or even parody contained in the original movie.

Thanks to your review, it seems like a classic movie that should be rented. I'm hoping Blockbuster carries it, but if not, I'll just try a local mom and pop shop.

Great review.

Cheers,
Ender
