Watching Urban Legend I found myself with a strange sense of Deja Vu. Was I really watching another version of "Scream"? Though the plot was different the action was not too diverse. A young woman being haunted by a past mistake while her circle of friends quickly shrinks as the killer takes them out one by one until the grand finali when, at a party no less, the killer picks up the pace a bit.
The show opens with the classic urban legend. A killer in the back of a car. (An SUV for the new millenium). Then another well known urban legend takes the life of another friend. After that, the killings do not resemble any urban legends that I am familiar with. The plot, however, is all too familiar and predictable. The killer is apperant from the early stages of the movie and overall not as exciting as the prerelease hype indicated.
If you like watching rerun after rerun of Scream, or just like to watch college kids get offed then you'll like this movie. If you want something that challenges your thinking and doesn't insult your intelligence you won't.
