There's Something About Mary is an awesome movie if your out looking for a good laugh! Ted is just one of those dorky dudes that never lands a girl in high school, that is until he meets Mary. Mary Agreed to go to the Prom with him. Ted went to pick Mary up for Prom night and things start going downhill! While Ted was waiting for Mary he went to use the restroom. After shaking the dew off his lily he zipped his riggin up in his drawers! He zipped up a bean and a part of his frank, it was a bad scene!! Needless to say his big night out with Mary didn't work out.
Several years later Ted still finds himself thinking about Mary. After telling his friend Dom that he thinks he still loves Mary, Dom recommends insurance claims Investigator, Pat Healy to Ted. All Ted wanted is for Healy to locate Mary and let him know how she is doing. Was she married? Did she have any kids and so fourth. Pat Healy locates Mary and finds her quite attractive, single and no kids, a nice tight package as he put it. He immediately calls Ted and tells him that she is 250 lbs and has a pile of kids. She has a hard time taking care of them because she is wheelchair bound but he had the address to the housing project if he wanted it. He paints a horrible picture!
After several weeks Ted decides to go see Mary anyway. His trip down to Florida takes longer than expected, he ends up spending some time in jail for a murder that he had nothing to do with. His good friend Dom comes down to pick him up from jail after he is exonerated for the crime of murder. The both of them continue on to Florida to find Mary.
When Ted eventually finds Mary she is dating Pat Healy. There is also another character named Tucker who is constantly after Mary. Tucker is actually a Pizza delivery boy who bought a suit and is posing as a disabled architect in hopes of winning over Mary. Tucker also acts like the concerned friend who has connections in the police department so out of the kindness of his heart he does background checks on anyone Mary is going out with. Consequently every guy she dates has a horrible background.
Remember Dom? Teds friend. It turns out that Dom Had had a relationship with Mary nine years earlier. The Only reason he gave Ted a ride down to find Mary was that he was still madly in love with her and her shoes(he has a serious shoe fetish)! While Dom is stocking Mary, Ted, Pat and Tucker were beating the hell out of each other and sorting out who had sabotaged who, here. Tucker also known as Norm the pizza boy had also confessed to making up lies about Mary's previous boyfriends, in particular Brett Favre. Ted had decided to go level with Mary about hiring an investigator to find her and let her now about all the BS going on with these guys in her life.
When Ted gets to Marys house Dom is there trying to steal her shoes. Norm and Pat were right outside the house stalking her so of course, they ran into rescue her. Ted had also called Brett Favre and asked him to come over and work things out with Mary. So now we have Ted, Dom, Pat, Norm and Brett all in Marys front room. Needless to say it's an awkward situation. There is definitely Something About Mary!
Conclusion
There's Something About Mary is definitely a comedy classic. There are some scenes that will have you rolling. Its very original and the script and cast great!
If you enjoyed Kingpin or Shallow Hal your sure to like this one. When it come to comedy The Farrelly Brothers are about as good as it gets.
