When you see movies, don't you want a sense of realism and relations to what life is about? This movie captures the heart of people of all ages and all types. It gives a true sense of what warfare is really like and of all the struggles the soldiers went through for their country and each other. When soldiers of the real war were interviewed, they claimed that "Saving Private Ryan" could not relate any more to what really has happened in current warfare. I have seen many other movies that express ideas on wars, but none can compare to the effects that this movie gives. The only type of film that could even possibly out-do this one is an actual documentary. Otherwise, I would definitely say that this tops them all. Every little aspect is useful. It expresses family life, important decisions made by soldiers and the government everyday, and most of all, what the word "loyalty" really means. It leaves you on the edge of your seat, waiting to see what happens next. It wasn't meant for suspense, but it truly makes you think about how these people are feeling and what causes them to do what they are doing. Some say this movie is tear-jerking, and I can certainly agree with that. While it shows events of warfare, it also brings about wonders. It relates to what the soldiers are feeling and the memories, pains, sadness, and trauma they are going through. I would recommend this movie to anyone who wants to know what a soldier's life is like without actually having to base it on fact. Next time you think that you are living a poor, miserable life, watch this movie and after seeing it, it'll make you happy that you can at last be sitting in front of your computer, reading what I have written.
