Wildwing's Full Review: Home Fries
Though not your average comedy, romance, or even screwball drama, Home Fries is one of the best and most original movies of 1999.
I was originally attracted by Drew Barrymore, who was absolutely fantastic in "Forever After" and "Boys on the Side". But less than five minutes into this movie I totally forgot the actors and was completely absorbed in the wonderfully strange and complex plot. Best of all, there are no loose ends left at the end of the movie; whether you like the ending or not, you have no questions left by the time the credits begin to roll.
Another similiar if more explicit movie along the same vein is "The Opposite of Sex" with another ex-child star, Christina Ricci. Though without the excellent plot twists, it wraps up in an equally satisfying ending.
