What Bunk!!!
This movie was billed as a great mob movie,in the tradition of "GoodFellas". How could they mention this trash in the same breath as a great mob film as GoodFellas. Come on!!!
Why this movie sucked:
1)These Irish mean streets are a joke. I mean compared to the streets of Miami in Scarface, this was a joke and made these tough Irish kids look like wimps compared to other gangs that will slice your body into little pieces, just for sneezing in the wrong direction.
2)Not enough violence. I know it's not mainstreem to say it but a good mob flick needs some violence, not too much but it does need it.
3)Unlike good mob movies like the Godfather movies, Scarface, GoodFellas and the TV show the Sapranos which detail the structure of their mob organizations, Monument Ave. did not do this well enough. It left me with the uneasy feeling of how is this organization run.
4)No true Story line. This was a mishmash of story lines rolled into one movie. There was no structure.
Over all this failed to live up to it's predecessors. This was a great disappointment.
One good thing about the movie was that it had a good cast of characters like Denis leary and Martin Sheen. The acting was good.
