This movie should begin to answer our questions about the origin of Luke and Darth Vader, but it just adds more questions. Like who is Qui-Gon, and where does Obi-Wan originate, and what about Darth Maul?

I expected more from this movie than I got. Not to say that is wasn't a good film, I saw on the big screen four times. The effects were excellent, and the action scenes, Pod Race, and the Dual at the end were just the best, cinematography and directing were brilliant. I feel Episode one just doesn't live up to the tone set by a New Hope and Return of the Jedi.
I am a big Star Wars fan, have the cards and figures etc., I had two problems with the story, we know nothing of Maul and Qui-gon and both are killed in the first film, before we can get to know them, so we feel nothing. Their dead, and? It does bring us to feel for Obi-Wan losing his mentor, and we know that he must train the boy for the already in place story to work. But I would had engrain the characters to us more, perhaps not killing them until the second film.
I loved the Queen, now we know where Leia got her attitude. And the story behind Anakin power was a good thought too. I did like Jar-Jar, he is a good kids character and great comic relief, like C-3PO's accidents from the first films. The film could have been better, but I still pre-purchased it, and await it arrival with held breath, because after all it is star wars and a great film.
