Who would have think that life could be a mysterious journey with a lot of comedy? And who would ever think that a film in a setting of prison and the decade of 1940’s could be so funny? When I heard the film “Life”, I thought it was just a simple film but after watching it, I learn that it is a good film. It has a good story that could touch anyone’s heart with laughter and irony of life.You do not need to be a good philosopher to understand "Life": a comedy film .

The Universal Picture and Image Entertainment made a comical film “Life”. Eddie Murphy played the character of Rayford Gibson. Rayford Gibson (Eddie Murphy) is the con artist who talks too fast while Claude Banks (Martin Lawrence) is the conservative bank teller. Ray and Claude met each other in a strange twist of fate. They accidentally teamed up to become the funniest “odd couple” in the east side of Mississippi. In an effort to pay Ray’s debt and restore Claude’s reputation, they have to travel south on a bootlegging run for some quick cash. They have to sell alcoholic drinks or booze. Unfortunately, they have more problems when they did not have money left because Ray lost in a card game and Claude helped a girl in her financial problems. There is no limit to their comical disaster as they placed at the crime scene and their mistaken identity landed them right in front of the judge. The judge declared them guilty for the crime they did not commit and they ended up in prison. Did they survive the life in the prison? How long do they have to stay in the prison? Did they get out of the prison? What happens next is for you to watch out.

WHAT'S GOOD ABOUT IT?

Good story. The story gives the unique meaning of friendship. Ray and Claude show a whole new meaning of friends for life.

Funny scenes. There are a lot of funny scenes in the movie like the time that Claude had to steal a pie and his lips got hurt because the pie is too hot.

Comical characters. The characters are very funny especially when they tried to imagine the “Boom-Boom room,” which Ray imagines it as a place with wine, poker games and girls singing and entertaining the customers.

WHAT ABOUT THE BAD STUFF?

Tragic situation: The sad part for me is when they ended up in prison for the wrong reason. Another tragedy is when a gay prisoner escaped and he got shot. The reason he escaped was because he had a fear of rejection to his family and to the outside world.

Reality bites: I did not like the racial discrimination in the story when Ray and Claude wanted to buy a pie but they could not buy the pie because the pie is only for "whites".

Final recommendation:
If you want to watch a hilarious movie with a heartwarming story, Life is the right movie to watch. I like the sense of humor of Eddie Murphy in the film. If you want great movie that could make you laugh, you should not hesitate to watch “Life”.
