Pros:Uninhibited, uncensored hentai anime- no annoying black bars.
Cons:Hermaphrodites. Well, you may like that sort of thing- I wouldn't know.
The Bottom Line: Tentacle rape, explicit sex, and a gorgeous young girl with a distinguishing pink bow. Don't like being told what's acceptable and what's taboo? Then try this on for size.
It's very simple: "La Blue Girl" is an infamously explicit, creatively erotic, and(depending on your sense of humor) strangely humorous hentai anime despised by sign-carrying, "hentai-free" activists the world over... but I love it. It doesn't bother me. Yeah, some of the artwork is closer to instinctively disturbing and surprisingly confusing than it is to absolute beauty, but much of the artwork is honestly and indisputably beautiful(as are the hentai girls themselves- the stars of the show). There aren't any major plot twists you won't see coming, pretty much anything is an excuse for an explicit sex scene, and the "tentacle-" a generally existent staple of hentai anime-spends a great deal of time on screen. "Just what is this 'tentacle' that you speak of?" you may ask. Well, if you have to ask, you don't want to know. "La Blue Girl" has got all of the stuff that concerned parents try to shield their wide-eyed, curious young children from: sex, violence, profanity, nudity, some more sex, and tentacles. Well, maybe not tentacles. But they ought to look into that one. Personally, I enjoy a good uninhibited, uncensored, "no apologies" anime like this one. If you're sick of black bars and empty promises, watch this and be blown away. If you have young children or any children at all, neither permit them to watch it with you nor admit to them that you've watched it. That's how it works. And, despite the lack of driving storyline, this hentai anime in particular is a spectacle of unimaginable innovation and artistic creativity. If you think you can handle the explicit anatomical detail, the graphic and extended rape, and the occasional hermaphrodite(we all know what that is)- while simultaneously appreciating the timely sex-oriented puns- then you should be adequately prepared for something that you really can't fully anticipate. Like I said, much of the art is beautiful, the girls are beautiful, and you'll eventually realize that this hentai is really a light-hearted, "hesitantly crack a smile" kind of tentacle rape-fest that doesn't take itself too seriously. No one should take it too seriously, and it's the characteristically uptight, discriminating critics that frown most heavily upon true- although admittedly unconventional- creativity. Thank you.
