I saw Run Lola Run at the Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor, MI.
The Mich is a lovely old vaudeville house that's been nicely
restored and is now run as a non-profit. It gets all the obscure
films before they hit the mall megaplexes (if they ever do).
We had seen the previews of Run Lola Run and it was
clear that this was a movie to go to. My movie-going
companion and I both know some German which made
understanding what was going on that much more
interesting.
You've read other reviews so I don't have to bore you with
plot details. The key to this film is the unusual structure
of having essentially one short (30m) film shot three times
with three different but interwoven related plots. Lola runs
through everything at a hyperkinetic pace & by playing
scenes 3x you get to see nuances that fly past the first time.
And she has the coolest hair.
