Disney rules the world of animated movies. Their latest triumph, Tarzan, is their greatest yet. The perfect mix of fine animation, great plotline, and Phil Collins's musical talents creates a movie that both children and adults can enjoy.
The story centers around Tarzan, a human baby whose parents are killed by a wild cheetah after their ship crashes off the coast of an African jungle. A female ape, whose own child died by the same cheetah, finds the child, rescues him from the cheetah, and names him Tarzan. Kerchak, the leader of the ape pack, disapproves of the adoption. From the time he is old enough to walk and talk, Tarzan is put through numerous trials to try to gain respect and acceptance from Kerchak and the other apes.
He grows into manhood, and is suddenly met with his hardest trial ever. Humans from Great Britain arrive to explore the jungle. Among them are Jane Porter, who entrances Tarzan from first sight, and her father, a respected, though slightly eccentric, scientist. Tarzan must choose between the world he loves but hates him, or the world he loves but never seen.
Children will love the extensive humor, high action, and musical sections. Adults will love the animation quality, musical sections, and voice acting that occurs.
