I'm sorry you didn't like this - I thought it was very funny, but you asked if there were worse movies, and I'll give you three: Heavy, Suture, and Magnolia. If you need more, I'll think of some.
And by the way, I usually hate Albert Brooks movies, too. "Mother" was slightly watchable, but other than that, his whining gets on my nerves, so I do see where you're coming from. I just liked Sharon Stone and Andie McDowell, and the premise of Hollywood being so fragile in its sometimes futile pursuit of "genius".
