I must say that Toy Story 2 is a great movie for the whole family. We never saw the first one and probably wouldn't have gone to see the second but a friends son was having a "movie birthday" party.
We were hesitant to take our 2 year old daughter to a movie theater but thought we would try it and just stay for a little while.
The movie began and she was in a daze. She just stared at the big screen wide eyed. She didn't move once during the whole movie (well, she did take 1 sip of drink) She has never been that still. We even had to check to see if she was asleep but something funny would happen and she would let out a chuckle (as did her daddy who loved it just as much)
The movie ended and she stood up and said "watched whole thing, GOOD, watch 1 more time" We just laughed. She wouldn't stop talking about Woody!
She cries for the movie now because she wants to watch it at home. We haven't been able to find Toy Story 1 at stores either so we keep renting it but I look forward to when Toy Story 2 comes out on video. It is our daughters favorite movie.
