By the time I bought Fat Burning, I owned and had used 2 other Bellydance: Fitness For Beginners tapes. I thought I knew what to expect. Ha. Fat Burning lives up to its name. I find myself turning down the heat in the house and pulling off my sweatshirt halfway through the tape.
Veena and Neena start with a nice stretch and then go. And go. And go. They’re like the energizer bunny. Just as with the Basic Moves tape, the narrator warns you when you're about to change moves, or add a move, but you’re going to have to pay attention. I actually like this tape better than the others because I have less time to get bored and I don’t get frustrated because they’re doing something I can’t keep up with. (The Hips, Buns, & Thighs has a toe tapping thing that I just can’t manage. And the circling thing on Slim Down? Forget it.) I also find myself doing parts of the routines at work. I imagine that one of these days Ruin13 is going to wander over and find me doing hip circles to the music on the radio. But it really is fun. How many other exercise tapes are you going to be doing away from the tape for no other reason than the sheer joy of motion?
If you hate to exercise, this is the series for you. If you like to dance, this is the series for you. If you like to exercise, this is the series for you. If you have 30 minutes a couple of days a week that you don’t know what to do with, this is the series for you. Can I have a hallelujah, robinmichele!
