Wow! I was impressed. When a friend loaned me their copy of "Stir of Echoes" and told me it was just as good, if not better than "Sixth Sense" I smiled and said 'sure'. They were right. Kevin Bacon plays as Chicago lineman who rents a house from a co-worker. He has a wife (who you won't recognize as the teacher from "Mighty Ducks 2") and a son. The son opens the movie in the bath talking to his 'invisible friend'. When he asks the question "What's it like being dead?".
At a party, a skeptical Tom (Kevin Bacon) is hypnotized. That begins a constant display of supernatural events. A ghost on the sofa, a ghost in the bath, a ghost in the cellar. The ghost is the spirit of a girl who the neighborhood believes to be a run away, or do they?
There is a secret in the neighborhood that this 'ghost' wants discovered and Tom is determined, if not possessed, to help her.
One of the great aspects of this movie is the use of the unexpected. Just when you expect one thing, something else happens. What you think is a dream is reality, and what you believe to be reality, isn't.
If you liked the sixth sense, you'll enjoy this movie. A definite YES to anyone who likes the world of supernatural movies.
