Before I even stepped into the theatre, I knew I was going to like this movie, even though I wasn't particularly anxious to see it (I was with friends and this was the only movie that we could agree on that none of us had seen before). Anyway....
This is a Martin Scorsese film, no doubt about it, much in the vein of Taxi Driver. One man's descent into madness....or his rise out of madness. One can never tell with a Scorsese film. Which is good. No easy answers, think it over afterwards, sleep on it, etc.
One last thing: Ving Rhames was in the movie for about 10 minutes and did a great job. I've been a fan of his since Pulp Fiction....it's nice to see him continue to get good roles.
