gueeds's Full Review: X-Files - The Complete First Season
Plot Details: This opinion reveals no details about the movie's plot.
The X-files was one of the best shows ever. With the Complete First Season, you can relive the classic moments that rocketed this show to the top.
The Video:
Since this season was made on a low budget, the video quality isn't as crisp as what is one today, but this is nothing to worry about. Everything is as good as it is going to get in this section. No artifacts or anything else to detract from the viewing experience. It IS in fullscreen, but this was not originally intended to be seen on widescreen televisions.
Audio:
Excellent. Everything is done well and nothing seems too low or too high.
Packaging:
The First Season Set has the worst slip cover. It is made of very thin cardboard and is easy to damage. Not too much to worry about. The graphic design is nice with a shiny metallic look to it and small text in the background. The DVD fold-out case is nice with stills from various episodes and a few quotes from episodes. Other than the flimsy cover, this is great.
The Extras:
This set has the following extras: Commentary of the First Season, Chris Carter interview, "Behind the Truth" spots, TV spots for each episode, and a DVD-ROM game. A die-hard fan might crave more, but this should fulfill most people's needs.
Recommended:
Yes
