Shandling plays an alien who's mission is to come to earth and procreate with a human female. Shandling's people are centuries advanced from our society. They are all men who breed by cloning. To facilitate their advancement they have weeded out any emotions from their genetic make-up, much like the student from The Stern School of Buisness at New York University. The resemblance is uncanny!
Anyhow, Shandling comes to Earth and tries several times to find true love and an orifice to place it into. Enter Annette Benning. A recovering alcoholic who is attempting to start her life over. She meets Gary at an AA meeting and sparks fly.
Director Mike Nichols is best known for The Graduate.Of course What Planet Are You From pales in comparision to this classic film, but it's still a highly entertaining film. I mean who wouldn't find a vibrating penis that hums when aroused, funny?
Of course the funniest character in this film is played by Ben Kingsley. Kingsley plays the leader of the planet that Gary Shandling calls home. If want to know how much I adore him, I would give up a limb to have sex with him. I don't know something about that bald head and his resemblance
