Swerdloff's Full Review: High Fidelity
I thought the film was utterly human.

I didn't take film classes, so I won't blather about archetypes.

Just that, after seeing the movie, I turned to the friend I saw it with and said "wow, did you see yourself in John Cusack?" and her replied "No, I saw you."

It wasn't about redemption, he didn't "get the girl," it was about being human, and doing what is necessary to keep going, and I really loved the movie, probably because I really saw myself in it.

And so did most of the people I know that saw it. Saw me in it, I mean.

Anyone who has ever settled for less than perfect because perfection is unattainable should see this movie.
